Overview:

  • Punta Catalina 770 MW coal power plant
  • The Punta Catalina is a 770MW coal power plant.
  • A consortium formed by Norberto Odebrecht, Tecnimont and Enginiera Estrella was awarded a contract to develop the plant in 2013.
  • Consorcio Azucarero de Empresas Industriales (CAEI) entered an “Enfiteusis Agreement” with the Dominican Estate via the Corporación Dominicana de Empresas Eléctricas Estatales (CDEEE).
  • This agreement allows the Dominican State to use and exploit the land where it is building the plant.
  • Mammoet delivered a cargo of 17 cranes and auxiliary equipment to the plant. The equipment included telescopic handlers, forklifts and man lifts, and a lifting and skidding system.
