Overview:

  • Battersea Power Station Development Company is redeveloping the landmark Battersea Power Station site in West London. 
  • The project, which has been in progress since 2012, consists of three phases: Phase 1 consisted of a £500 million residential development, Phase 2 consisted of a £1 billion redevelopment of the power station building itself, Phase 3 consisted of a £1 billion mixed used development designed by Fosters and Gehry.
  • The project is being developed by Malaysian real estate companies SP Setia Berhad, Sime Darby and Employees Provident Fund who acquired the old Battersea power station building for £400 million in 2012.
  • A number of companies have already signed up to become tenants in the development most notably Apple who will take six floors in the building.
  • The power station itself is one of the largest brick buildings in the world and is recognizable as the backdrop from the cover for the Pink Floyd album 'Animals'
