The project is a proposed wind farm owned and operated by TrustPower to be located in the Southland region of New Zealand.
It is expected to have a maximum capacity of 240MW and use up 83 turbines supplied by a Chinese turbine supplier.
The proposed wind farm would be built in stages and at full capacity could supply the equivalent of 113,000 homes.
If the project goes ahead it will be the first major wind farm development to be sanctioned in New Zealand since the 2015 agreement between the New Zealand Aluminium Smelters and Meridian Energy, which has led to significant uncertainty in the New Zealand electricity market.
