Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr (CDH) is pleased to announce the appointment of Rishaban Moodley, as the new head of its Dispute Resolution practice, effective 1 September 2022. Rishaban succeeds Tim Fletcher, who continues to serve the firm in his roles as Chairperson, and as a Director in the Dispute Resolution practice.

Rishaban joined Hofmeyr Herbstein and Gihwala (now Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr) as a candidate attorney, became an Associate in 2001 and was promoted to Senior Associate in 2003. He was appointed as a a Director in 2005, and operates one of the firms most successful teams, specialising in administrative, commercial and mining law disputes and has been the lead in numerous high-profile matters. Having served several terms on the firms executive committee, CDH is confident that he holds the qualities and experience to take on the challenge as Practice Head in Dispute Resolution.

Tim Fletcher will continue with the firm in his role as Chairperson of CDH, through building scale, recruiting talent, creating value for clients, and expanding further into Africa, amongst other strategic initiatives.

“Since Tim’s appointment in April 2022, he has proven to be invaluable in his counsel to CDH’s senior management. In recognising Tim’s palpable impact, as well as his strategic mindset and institutional knowledge, it is clear that his focus as Chairperson is in the best interests of the firm, and its people,” concluded Brent.
