International law firm Reed Smith has added a new projects and construction partner to its Singapore office.
Bree Miechel joins the firm from the Singapore office of Simmons & Simmons where she led its South East Asia construction practice.
Prajakt Samant, chair of Reed Smith’s energy and natural resources group said: "According to government figures, the urban population in South East Asia is expected to increase from 36% currently to 45% by 2030, requiring new infrastructure in transport, utilities, healthcare and housing to meet the growing demand. Bree is a pivotal addition to our team and to servicing our clients’ projects, and transactional construction needs in this region."
Miechel has over 12 years' experience working in Asia and the Middle East advising lenders, sponsors, government authorities and contractors on a wide range of energy, utilities, transportation and infrastructure projects.
Fluent in Mandarin and Japanese, she is qualified in Australia and has previously practised in Beijing and Abu Dhabi before relocating to Singapore in 2014.
