US firm Kirkland & Ellis has added a new partner to its Hong Kong office to boost the firm’s corporate practice group.
Daniel Dusek joins the firm from Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom where he had focused on mergers and acquisitions and going-private transactions.

His experience and energy will enhance our strong platform and our ability to serve clients on their most significant transactions in the region.”
Dusek’s experience includes advising private equity sponsors, financial institutions and multinationals on their investments, divestments and strategic transactions across a broad range of industries. Last year Dusek was part of the team that advised an independent committee at Chinese internet company Qihoo 360 Technology on its $9 billion take-private deal, and also advised travel site Ctrip.com International on its merger with Qunar Cayman Islands.
He had joined Skadden straight out of law school in 2000, and was made partner in New York in 2008 before relocating to Beijing in 2012.
The move comes six years after Kirkland & Ellis recruited Skadden's Asia corporate co-heads Nicholas Norris and Dominic Tsun as the firm continues to strengthen in Asia.
