Gibson Dunn & Crutcher partner Stephen Gillespie has left the firm to join Letterone Holdings as its new general counsel.

Gillespie was the co-chair of the global finance group and acts on finance, M&A and private equity matters. He is ranked by the IFLR1000 as a 'Highly regarded' lawyer.

Before joining Gibson Dunn, Gillespie had been a senior partner at Kirkland & Ellis untill 2014. Prior to that he had served as co-head of the banking practice at Allen & Overy.

His transactional highlights at Gibson Dunn and before include acting for Bain Capital on the $1.8 billion acquisition of the Ideal Standard kitchens and bathrooms business of American Standard, work for Cinven and GS Capital Partners on the sale of Ahlsell for SKr15.5 billion and work for Vista Equity Partners in relation to the £1.2 billion take-private of Misys.
