Allen & Overy (A&O) has brought in a new legal head to its Thailand office to enhance its Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) team.
Nithi Laophulsuk joins Allen & Overy from Standard Chartered Bank in Thailand where he was the head of legal and compliance.
Stephen Jaggs, managing partner of A&O’s Bangkok office, said of the hire: "This appointment reflects our commitment to provide local depth and outstanding expertise across the areas of law that our clients have said are central to their needs."
Prior to joining Standard Chartered, Laophulsuk worked at Hunton & Williams in Thailand where he advised on significant on-shore and cross-border banking, M&A and restructuring mandates.
An expert in banking, compliance and capital markets work, his role will focus on transactions, contentious and non-contentious work in regulated markets.
