Albert Birkner

Managing Partner and Head of Department of Takeovers &Antitrust. Partner since 2004, with CERHAHEMPEL since 1995. Albert specializes in mergers and acquisitions, public takeovers, corporate reorganizations and restructurings, joint ventures as well as trusts with a special focus on Austria and (CEE/SEE). He has developed particular expertise in the fields of structuring and implementation of corporate transactions, takeover mechanics and the modelling of co-ownership structures. Albert was/is a lead partner on many prominent matters for several years already and holds an extremely vast track record. He is an author and regular contributor of numerous publications.

• Advised Mississippi Ventures B.V. on its acquisition of 50% of the shares in HEMA B.V.
• Advised Worthington Cylinders GmbH in connection with the acquisition of all shares in PTEC Pressure Technology GmbH.
• Advised EnBW Trust e.V. and EnBW Energie Baden-Württemberg AG in the EUR 1 billion sale of a 28.35% stake in EVN AG, purchased by WIENER STADTWERKE GmbH. 
• Advised San Pacific and San Venture in connection with the sale of their shareholdings in Erber AG to Koninklijke DSM NV ("Royal DSM").
• Advised Alfred Ritter GmbH & Co KG on its acquisition of a production facility belonging to Mars Austria OG in Breitenbrunn.
