Research period review: 33rd edition (2022/2023)

Over the research period the firm was active across banking, capital markets, investment funds, M&A, private equity, projects and restructuring and insolvency

The banking team had a substantial market impact working on significant cross-border financing transactions linked to agriculture, renewable energy, transport and other sectors. The firm advised borrowers and lenders.

On the debt side, the capital markets team was deeply engaged in the real estate sector, advising clients on real estate receivable credits and other issuances. On the equity side, the firm advised mostly underwriters in cross-border share offers across various industries such as education and energy.

The investment funds team assisted clients with fund formations and fund raising for private equity investment funds, real estate investment funds and credit rights investment funds almost entirely in the investment management industry.

In M&A, the firm advised on multiple large cross-border acquisitions and mergers in industries such as healthcare and transport.

Energy, agribusiness and sanitation were some of the sectors the private equity team was engaged in. The firm assisted with the formation and structuring of several private equity funds for private acquisitions and other investments.

In project transactions, the development and finance sides both consisted mainly of deals in the energy sector, specifically renewable energy. The project finance team advised lenders and borrowers equally on domestic and cross-border financing deals.

The firm’s restructuring and insolvency work included judicial reorganizations, debt restructuring, and bankruptcy matters in the real estate, aviation, transportation, banking and finance, telecommunications and infrastructure sectors.

In April of 2022, the projects and onfrastructure team recruited Miriam Signor from Stocche Forbes. In October of 2022, the firm recruited partner Bernardo Carneiro from Chamon Santana to join the restructuring and insolvency and banking and finance teams. The firm also recruited Felipe Camara from E.Munhoz Advogados over the research period to join the restructuring and insolvency team
