ZICOlaw Myanmar has named a new managing partner to strengthen both its local practice in the frontier market and its regional network in South East Asia.

Samuel Britton joins the firm from Sciaroni & Associates Myanmar where he was previously the head of its Myanmar office.

Chew Seng Kok, chairman of ZICOlaw network, said: “These new developments are part of ZICOlaw’s commitment and continuing effort to strengthen our network with experienced team members for our offices in the region.”

Britton is an American lawyer who is conversantly fluent in Japanese and has over a decade of practical experience in the East and South East Asian region. He joined Baker & McKenzie Thailand in 1995 and founded his boutique law firm in 1998. He has been based in Myanmar since 2013, when he first joined Sciaroni & Associates Myanmar.

He is a 20-year veteran in various practice areas, including corporate commercial, intellectual property, projects, infrastructure & utilities, real estate, securities & finance and taxation.

ZICOlaw Myanmar, which opened in 2013, is a local firm in Myanmar. The languages spoken at the office include Burmese, English, Malay, Mandarin, Japanese and Thai. It is supported by the ZICOlaw network of firms who now have a presence in eight of the 10 ASEAN state members.
