Rajah & Tann Thailand has hired a new M&A partner to boost its corporate practice in the country.

David Gibbons joins the firm as a partner in the Bangkok office after four years of private practice. He is now part of the corporate practice group of Rajah & Tann Thailand with a specialisation in M&A and private equity.

Gibbons is a New York qualified corporate lawyer with 20 years' expertise on cross border M&A transactions, private equity deals, venture capital investments and capital markets offerings. His notable deals include the $1.76 billion tender offer of Temasek and the dual delisting from Nasdaq and the Singapore Exchange (SGX) of Singapore-based semiconductor manufacturer Stats Chipac.

Prior to joining Rajah & Tann, he practised privately as a corporate attorney in Singapore and New York for four years since 2011. Other positions he had held before 2011 include director in the legal department of wealth fund Temasek and counsel at DLA Piper Singapore. He will be returning to Thailand after having once worked as associate at local firm Chandler & Thong-ek.

Rajah & Tann's Bangkok office now has a team of 45 lawyers supporting its clients in local and regional corporate and M&A transactions.
