The offices of French firms Lefèvre Pelletier & Associés and CGR Legal have announced that they will merge in the coming year. The merger will see the full capacity of CGR join the Lefèvre brand, henceforth to be known as LPA CGR.

Once the merger is complete, the firm will boast a 160 strong team of lawyers, and will be counted amongst the largest in Paris. Lefèvre Pelletier & Associés has been an established presence in the banking sector, with a focus on real estate, for 30 years, while CGR Legal has specialised in work relating to renewable energy for over a decade.

The move is something of an anomaly in a French market that sees relatively few consolidations. Given the level of market saturation by global firms, this merger could suggest a future trend for tie-ups between domestic firms.
