Kirkland & Ellis (K&E) has hired a new partner in Hong Kong to strengthen its global restructuring practice.
Kelly Naphtali joins the firm from Lipman Karas, a boutique firm that specialises in insolvency and litigation.

"Kirkland offers unique strengths in Asia because of our ability to assemble first-class talent from various legal disciplines to assist clients. The most sophisticated client issues typically require integrated teams of legal experts, including various combinations of transactional, restructuring, and litigation attorneys."
Naphtali—who was also previously a partner at Hogan Lovells—manages cross-border litigation and insolvencies and pursues claims across Asia-Pacific and the Caribbean. She is particularly strong in borrower default actions, shareholders disputes, insolvency and company law.
K&E launched its Asia restructuring and insolvency practice in September 2014 with the hires of Hogan Lovells Asia restructuring head Neil McDonald and partner Damien Coles. In just little over a year, the firm’s practice group has grown to seven lawyers.
