HSA Advocates has expanded its New Delhi office by recruiting a corporate partner from a rival.

Sunando Mukherjee joins the firm from Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co where he had acted as a partner since 2017.

Hemant Sahai, the managing partner of HSA Advocates, remarked: "Apart from pureplay corporate M&A, he does a lot of energy-specific M&A. And in that sense, he fits in very well with our profile."

Mukherjee comes on board with over 14 years' experience advising on matters such as inbound and outbound M&A, structuring of investments, joint ventures, public-private partnerships (PPPs), public procurement regulations and long-term government supply contracts. His clients include public and private businesses, global banks, multi-lateral financial institutions and the government of India in relation to projects in India.

This marks the eighth appointment made by HSA since last April. The firm has been going through a period of significant partner changes, having lost seven partners to DSK Legal last year.
