As one of the nine events of the Beijing Design Week 2016, the Innovation Design Service Conference held three sessions, Design Service Night, Brand Service and Innovation Laboratory. The fourth session of the Innovation Design Service Conference, the Copyright Service Forum, was also successfully held in Gehua Building on September 27th with the participation of the Director of the DSC, the Vice Director of Temple of Heaven Art Museum, Eric Zhao of East & Concord Partners, the Vice President of Beijing Banbao and many other design companies and designers.
East & Concord Partners was the sole law firm invited to give talks about intellectual property for this forum. Mr. Zhao, a partner of the East & Concord Partners, delivered a speech entitled “Legal Protection and Operation of Design Industry——Discovery IP”, which was well received by the participants.
Specifically, Mr. Zhao focused on intellectual property protection issues related to the design industry and specified three steps and four action strategies for IP protection based on his legal practice experience. His speech can be divided into three parts: Design Industry and IP Creation, Design Industry and IP Protection, Design Industry and IP Operation. Mr. Zhao’s speech was welcomed by the audience for his plain language and his professional and practical legal knowledge of the design industry.
