Ms. Jassmine Fu obtained her B.S. from Yokohama City University of Japan in Economics. She is the manager of the Firm’s intellectual property department for Japanese clients. She is a trademark attorney and has experience in all aspects of trademark law, including application filing, oppositions, cancellations, disputes, as well as administrative and infringement litigation. She has utilized her excellent communication skills to help many Japanese clients in trademark law matters. In addition, she also advises clients on matters concerning patent law, copyright, anti-unfair competition law and other trademark-related laws.

Mr. Gang Guan graduated from Harbin Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Physics, and then went on to obtain a LL.M. from Peking University, School of Law. He specializes in Intellectual Property dispute resolution, particularly cases involving patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition and trade secret disputes. Prior to joining East & Concord, Mr. Guan served as a patent examiner at the Patent Re-examination Board and State Intellectual Property Office for over 10 years. During his tenure at the PRB, he examined hundreds of patent invalidations and has participated in many important IP cases, such as representing Apple against Chinese patent holders in patent infringement and patent invalidation proceedings.

Ms. Dongping Liu graduated from the University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) School of Law with Ph.D. in Competition law. Ms. Liu has handled anti-monopoly related matters alone or in cooperation with domestic and/or foreign law firms for companies, as well as providing compliance training for foreign and domestic companies. She has provided specialized services in cases investigated by NDRC and SAIC, merger control filing, compliance program, providing consultancy as to risks under the AML arising from business strategy, contract arrangement, JV arrangement, IP, civil litigation, remedies as well as solutions to avoid or mitigate such risks.

Mr. Jason Liu received his LL.M. from Peking University, School of Law. As the top Family Office and Private Wealth Management Consultant, Mr. Jason Liu has over 10 years of experience in PRC Law, PRC Tax, and Private Wealth Management. He specializes in Family Office, onshore and offshore Family Trust, Financing and Tax Planning. Over the years, he has successfully provided one-stop Private Wealth Management planning services for hundreds of HNWIs and Families in China. Moreover, as an expert, he designed Private Wealth Management operation system, Family Office services system, and Family Trust services and management system for many Banks, Trust companies, Insurance companies, Financial institutions, and PE in China.

Ms. Maria Ma received her LL.B. from China University of Political Science and Law, and went on to receive LL.M’s from both Peking University and Temple University. Before Ms. Ma joined East & Concord, she was a senior partner with Winners Law Firm, and also worked at Dacheng Law Offices and DLA Piper Law Firm. Ms. Ma also serves as an executive in one of the world’s top 500 companies and Century 21 China Real Estate.

Mr. Cheng Peng holds a dual bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Commercial Law. Mr. Peng has helped over 30 companies in achieving their goals of listing in National Equities Exchange and Quotations (NEEQ) and Local Equity Exchange Centre through his extensive knowledge and working experiences since 2012. For private equity investment fund, Mr. Peng significant effort is put in due diligence investigation in preparation for drafting complete series of investment agreements and tailoring different structures for various entities. Mr. Peng is now engaged by more than 10 listing companies as their legal counsel to deal with general legal issues such as investment negotiation, share issuance, equity incentive plan and compliance review in addition to providing legal opinions.

Mr. Lun Xue received his B.E. from Dalian University of Technology, and is currently finishing his LL.M. in Renmin University. Mr. Xue has worked in IP area for over 12 years, and accumulated abundant experiences in patent application, reexamination, invalidation, administrative/civil litigation, in-house IP management and consultant areas. Mr. Xue has represented many overseas Fortune 500 companies and domestic companies. Mr. Xue specializes in patent application, reexamination, invalidation and administrative/civil litigation.

Ms. Fang Zhang graduated from Northwest University of Political Science and Law with an LL.B. Ms. Zhang specializes in disputes and arbitration in civil and commercial, real estate, administrative and executive cases and also provides non-litigation legal services including enterprise business negotiation, contract drafting, legal opinions, corporate legal risk prevention and control and corporate rules and regulations. Ms. Zhang worked with the court for many years and acted as deputy chief judge. Ms. Zhang served as a corporate General Counsel before joining the Firm.

Mr. Roger Zhang received his bachelor’s degree from Shandong University in both Law and English (5-year program), and later pursued his studies at the University of International Business and Economics, receiving a Master, Ph.D. and Postdoctoral. He was a Fulbright Visiting Researcher in George Washington University and a Hoover IP scholar in Stanford University. Mr. Zhang has been involved in multiple research projects on legislation for NDRC, SAIC and MOFCOM as an expert in Anti-Monopoly Law. He has handled antitrust matters for companies in various industries and provided compliance training program for these clients. Mr. Zhang is a productive writer in both English and Chinese and has won the Best Antitrust Academic Article in 2016 Antitrust Writing Awards.

Mr. Eric Zhao received a B.E. from Dalian University of Technology, College of Chemical Engineering, and went on to receive his LL.M. from Peking University. Mr. Zhao specializes in Intellectual Property disputes resolution, especially patent, trademark, copyright, unfair competition and trade secret disputes. During his time serving the court, Mr. Zhao participated in the conclusion of over 600 cases as a member of collegial panel and handled approximately 300 cases as the chief judge.

Ms. Yueping Zhong graduated from China University of Political Science and Law with a LL.B., and received her LL.M. from Boston University. Ms. Zhong is experienced in areas including venture capital, private equity, financing through capital market and cross border M&A. Representative clients of Mrs. Zhong include institutional investors, enterprises in diverse stages of development, transnational enterprises and well-known private enterprises. She specializes in internet, latest technologies, media and entertainment, and is an expert in regulations, architecture design, capital management, industrial investment and project management in these areas.

Mr. Yuan Zhou received his LL.B. from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and went on to receive his LL.M. from the University of Hertfordshire. He specializes in online finance, investment finance legal services, foreign affairs litigation and arbitration, and business dispute resolution. Mr. Zhou previously worked at the Grandall Law firm, as well as Great Hold Beijing Law firm before becoming a partner at Beijing Tigood Law Firm.
