Simmons & Simmons have announced the arrival of a new partner in Brussels.

Carl Meyntjens joins the firm from the Belgian office of Ashurst, where he was the managing partner. He is joined at Simmons & Simmons by counsel Kelly Cherretté.

Ashurst announced it was restructuring the leadership of the office following Meyntjens's departure. He will be replaced by a team including Arnaud Wtterwulghe as managing partner and Denis Fosselard in the newly created role of 'head of Brussels'.

This news is the latest in a string of recent departures at Ashurst, which has included the loss of Singapore managing partner Shaun Lascelles, former Singapore managing partner Keith McGuire, Hong Kong managing partner Lina Lee and Hong Kong partners Jonathan Hsui, Doo-Soon Choi and Bertie Mehigan, as well as Abu Dhabi partner Alastair Holland. In Europe, this move follows the withdrawl of the firm from Stockholm in June, where the entire team moved to Hamilton.
