Vineta Čukste–Jurjeva

Vineta Čukste-Jurjeva is a partner of Kronbergs Čukste Levin speciailizing in Corporate Commercial, Banking & Finance, Regulatory Compliance and Public Procurement. She serves companies operating in Transport, Energy, Banking and Telecom sectors. Vineta has significant experience in civil and administrative litigation, including complex high profile cases in the Constitutional Court and the European Court of Justice.

• Since 2019 Vineta serves as a Member of Liquidation Committee of ABLV Bank, dealing with complicated Banking, Corporate and Regulatory as well as AML and Sanctions Compliance matters. Her recent work included sale of ABLV’s mortgage loan portfolio to Citadeles banka which was one of the biggest transactions in Latvia in 2021;
• Vineta has represented the European Central Bank in two precedent setting cases before the Grand Chamber of the European Court of Justice regarding independence and immunity of Governors of national central banks;
• Vineta has represented Alfor, one of the leading gambling companies in Latvia, in a number of complex disputes in all instances of administrative courts as well as the Constitutional Court with respect to prohibitions on gambling activities at national and municipal levels;
• Vineta has assisted Latvenergo and Latvian Railways in implementation of EU market liberalization directives and compliance of their operations with independence requirements;
• Vineta holds CAMS and Certified Personal Data Protection Officer certifications.
