Sharon Sakuwaha

Sharon has a holistic perspective on transactions due to her wide experience advising on complex transactions in Zambia. She acts for a wide range of clients across various industry sectors such us Mining, Energy and Utilities, Financial Services and Agriculture and Forestry. Sharon’s experience covers a broad range of areas, including mergers and acquisitions; disposals, banking and finance, corporate restructuring, joint ventures.

Her practice includes private and public mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, private equity, debt and equity capital market transactions, sustainable finance, corporate finance, project development, project finance, restructuring and insolvency and issues of compliance and corporate governance, across diverse industry sectors.

She has been lead advisor on some of Zambia’s most significant transactions due to her in depth knowledge of the regulatory and commercial landscape, multi-disciplinary expertise, responsiveness and strong track record working on complex transactions.

• Advisor to ZCCM-IH Plc the Government of Zambia’s investment holding company on the conversion of its equity interest in Kansanshi Mine Plc majority owned by First Quantum Minerals Plc in a life of mine royalty interest.
• Advisor to EcoSecurities on the development of a Forest Carbon Project. The role involved advising on the regulatory framework, key risks as advising on how to address the risks to the project in the transaction documents.
