Graham Thompson was established in 1950 and today has offices in Nassau and Freeport focusing on the financial services industry, tourism and hospitality. The firm's founding partner, Peter Graham, still practices. The firm is recognised in the Bahamas for its commitment to public service. Graham served in Parliament from 1956 to 1972, and several partners of the firm have served in the Parliament, Senate and Cabinet.
The firm has been involved with the revitalisation of downtown Nassau, providing advice to the developer in regard to the relocation of the city's container port to Arawak Kay.
Over the past year, the team has also represented a major South American holding company in the acquisition of a banking group based in Central America and represented a major investment vehicle in the restructuring of its ownership interest in a prominent retail chain.
Other important restructuring work included representing one of the top ten banks in the world in the restructuring of its retail and commercial banking business in the Bahamas and helping a top-tier international bank in the restructuring of a syndicated loan for the development of a substantial resort property.
