LatinAlliance has a regional network throughout Central America and is described by peers as a "well-known law firm" that is growing. José Adolfo Torres and Raúl Ernesto Pineda lead the firm's financial and corporate team. Pineda previously worked at the Superintendence of Securities and is recommended by a peer, who enjoyed working across the table from him.
Recognised as a leader in IP, the firm also has an active financial and corporate practice. Led by Torres and Pineda, the Salvadoran office counseled creditors on two "stand-by" letters of credit, approved to guarantee the purchase of liquid gas imported by Tropigas de El Salvador and Terminales de Gas del Pacífico. GTC Bank arranged the deal, which involved two lenders and several debtors.
Additionally, the firm advised the Fund for Small Producers in Latin America (FOPEPRO), a rural investment fund specialising in financing smallholders associations, agribusinesses and rural microfinance institutions. Organised under the laws of the Republic of Panama and domiciled in Panama City, Latin Alliance assisted with agreements drawn to the specifications of local regulations and reviewed documentation so that other entities, including the Multilateral Investment Fund (MIF), could participate in the venture.
