"As I say, Schoenherr have come on," one commentator states. In future editions, Moravcevic Vojnovic Zdravkovic in cooperation with Schoenherr is a firm to watch out for. Youthfully exuberant, the firm approaches its work with measured vibrancy. This year, its competence has been reflected by a spate of internal promotions to junior partnership, and it has laid itself a solid platform, which bodes well for the future. "Schoenherr has done substantial transactional work in the last six months," one partner says. "Moravcevic is a good local law firm and they have cooperation with Schoenherr and yes all three guys (Slaven Moravcevic, Matija Vojnovic and Relja Zdravkovic) are good lawyers," another partner says. Matija Vojnovic has been the subject of praise among market players. "I had a great experience with Schoenherr in Serbia. Matija Vojnovic is a great guy," one client said. "Matija Vojnovic is good to have as a counterpart. He is flexible and doesn't look to destroy deals but looks for solutions to deals," says one peer.
The firm's capacity is on display with a number of notable instructions this year. The firm continues to act as lead counsel to Telekom Austria on its impending €1.4 billion acquisition of a controlling stake in the state-owned Telekom Srbija from the Serbian government and Greek telecom operator OTE. This transaction is one of the largest in Serbia, not only in recent times, but ever. Furthermore, Matija Vojnovic and Luka Lopicic are busy advising RTB Bor and Serbia's Ministry of Economy on a €175 million investment in the new Outotec smelter and a sulphuric acid factory in the region's largest copper mine, RTB Bor. The contract was awarded to SNC Lavalin and is co-financed by Export Development Canada and the government. The firm was also indirectly involved in the Delta Maxi acquisition when it advised insurer Generali on the restructuring of its financial relationship with Delta Maxi and C Market.
