Dinova Rusev & Partners has secured a second tier position owing to its strong performance this year. "We use a lot of firms in the region and they're the best firm we've ever worked with. We give them all our work," says one client. "It's a lean mean team. It's not big but they give appropriate attention," says another client, adding: "In larger offices they give you junior partners but with them we got senior attention."
The firm's banking and finance practice hit a watershed moment last year. Now free of its prior association with Ernst & Young, the firm has tripled its volume of banking & finance deals and is rapidly expanding its client portfolio. "Commitment, professionalism, ability and thinking outside the box" was the description of one client, adding to the last point: "We don't usually get this from lawyers."
The firm acted for Sofia Hotel Balkan on a capital increase valued at over €9 million, the largest transfer of majority stake of shares on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) in 2010 and one of the largest bond issue flotations on the market.
Other work has seen the firm act for IsBank on the establishment of its banking operations in Bulgaria The firm currently advises Assos Capital, a real estate private equity house, in a range of legal matters linked with exploiting the already operational trade centre (developed by Carrefour and known simply as 'The Mall') in Sofia.
The firm's focus is conveyed neatly by one client who says: "They communicate every single detail. Sometimes I ask them not to communicate with me to give them some space and think about things." The client further adds: "They are not only responsive but responsible too."
