Founded in 2007 by partners Ossama Shaban and Lana Salameh, the firm was rocked by the Jumana Toukan's departure to Ali Sharif Zu'bi Advocates & Legal Consultants in January 2011. Market consensus is that having lost a key member of its senior staff the firm should be demoted: "JC Law is a one person show because Jumana left, it's just Lana on her own," says one.
The severity of the loss remains to be seen however and for now the firm retains its rank.
Despite this setback, the firm has remained busy however and one of the most high profile mandates saw the team act for the European Investment Bank on the development of Jordan's proposed public-private partnership (PPP) framework.
Staying in the project space, the team has also been assisting one of the bidders on the IPP3 (independent power producer) project.
The firm has also advised a number of clients including International Relief & Development in regard to the country's new Association and Companies laws.
In the corporate space, one notable mandate saw the team act for the Jordan Bromine Company on the updating of various project agreements including joint venture and shareholder agreements.
