Law Group Argument is led by well-known local lawyer, Denis Aleinikov, and boasts other names such as Dmitry Matveyev. This core team has acted on all the important work the firm has done this year, including one or two notable transactions.
In March 2011 a team led by Matveyev advised BelarusBank on a loan agreement worth $500 million with an international bank, while senior partner Denis Aleinikov advised the China National Machinery and Equipment and Import and Export Corporation in regard to a tender offer to operate in the country. This offer was won, and the company now has an office in Belarus. The deal is worth an estimated €350 million overall.
