One of the firm's biggest and most impressive deals last year saw Fenech and Joseph Ghio acting for the Government of Malta on the privatisation of the Malta Shipyards, including the docks, Superyachts facility and the Manoel Island Yacht Marina.
Another highlight saw the team advice Q-Tel, the Qatari telecoms company, on the acquisition of a Tunisian operator for €1.2 billion. Nicolai Vella Falzon advised on the deal, which was completed via the acquisition of a Maltese holding company.
Although capital markets work has not been vibrant on the island the team did get one deal away advising the Kuwaiti Burgan Bank in the enforcement of a pledge of shares of a Maltese credit institution listed on the national exchange.
Finally in the fledgling aviation industry the team acted for Natixis Transport Finance in regard to loans for the acquisition of three ATR aircraft and AirMalta over its restructuring and the application to the European Commission for state aid.
