"Katerina was our main contact and she was always quick to respond. They gave us all the support we needed," says one client. It is worth noting that Christodoulou was active on all of YLP's big mandates this year.
Highlight deals for the firm were spread across the different practice areas. In corporate, they acted for Aegean Airlines with regard to an acquisition of Olympic Air, Olympic Handling and Olympic Technical Services from Marfin Investment Group. The specific work was the unwinding of a presale sales and purchase agreement and the transaction completed in March 2011 for around €210 million.
The firm is looking to build up expertise in PPP (public-private partnerships), as it is something that is beginning to find its feet in Greece and will provide a lot of work along the line. A team from YLP is advising a major construction firm, ATESE, with the financing, building and ongoing operation of over a dozen schools in the Attica region with the €60 million of necessary financing coming from Emporiki Bank, part of the Crédit Agricole group.
In pure finance work, the team has been advising a confidential energy client on a continual basis regarding a structuring of their assets to use as collateral for acquiring funds. Worth €200 million, the transaction on completion represents a large undertaking.
