AB & David is a sixteen-strong firm of three partners. Managing partner David Ofosu-Dorte is one of the leading experts in Ghana on public procurement, public-private partnership (PPP) agreements, and project matters in construction and transport.
Ofosu-Dorte and partner Isabel Boaten lead on most of the corporate deals, which cover financings, complex banking transactions and all manner of project work.
In 2010, the firm advised Proparco on a $10 million recapitalisation of its tier two capital to meet the bank of Ghana's new capital requirements and in mid-2011 it was busy assisting Canal Capital and TNT Estates on a $120 million of financing for real estate developments in Ghana. The team also helped Grofin East Africa on the establishment of investment advisory services.
The firm worked alongside a foreign private equity house to raise $100 million in capital for a local bank and advised Tema Metropolitan Authority on $85 million of financing for the development of a convention centre.
The firm's key area is project finance, and in highlight mandates it acted for the Ministry of Environment, Science & Technology on the arrangements for a $100 million PPP for a waste management plant and advised another public client on a PPP for the development of residential properties in the Sekondi - Takoradi of the Western region of Ghana.
AB & David also advised Probitas Partners & Co on its expansion in the oil and gas industry and the Ministry of Energy on the $1 billion policy and legal options for the design of an integrated aluminium industry in Ghana within a framework that provides transaction options for the financial and organisational restructuring of VALCO.
