Originally founded in 1961, under the name Law Office Selih, the successor Odvetniki Selih & partnerji has history to its name. This well established firm has been a regular on the legal landscape and has developed a solid reputation. "We meet them occasionally. They're good lawyers and we meet them in finance and in M&A," one partner says.
Over the last 12 months the firm has been involved in a number of interesting mandates. In infrastructure finance, the firm is presently advising a syndicate of European based banks in connection to a €100 million loan granted to Geoplin plinovodi, a Slovenian gas transmission operator. Furthermore, the firm advised an Austrian based production company in its acquisition of shares worth €37 million in a Slovenian based holding company.
In truth, the firm has been busy with M&As this year and advised a Swedish based industrial and dental trading group in a cross-border M&A, the target of which has subsidiaries in a number of jurisdictions. The firm also advised an Austrian based industrial group in its prospective €23 million acquisition, Odvetniki Selih & partnerji performed legal due diligence of the Slovenian subsidiary of the target.
