Eversheds' structured finance and securitisation team has been augmented this year with the addition of well-respected lawyer Kingsley Ong from Mayer Brown and partner Mark Yeadon from Slaughter and May.

Clients we spoke to had particular praise for Ong, and many actually followed him from his previous employer. "Kingsley is a trusted advisor," one client tells us, "he's available 24/7. He has to be - he's good because he's always available. I have his mobile phone. I'll try to call him at like midnight, and it's totally fine. We will call him in the middle of the night and he would be there. His level of responsiveness is at the very top."

"Kingsley is my first priority in dealing with counsel," another client said, "I will try to use him over time."

This past year, Eversheds has advised Fitch Ratings on several Korean credit card securitisations. The structured finance and securitisation team has also dealt with much of work from the liquidators of Lehman entities in Hong Kong.

The emerging practice has recently advised KPMG on nine Lehman Brothers Hong Kong entities, as well as the restructuring of a Hong Kong-listed company.

Clients seem to have the highest praise for Eversheds new team. "Vishal is a future star litigator," one client tells us. "He has strong black letter skills and is attentive to detail. He was exceptionally gracious with clients, suppliers and other lawyers involved in the case, and is of high integrity."
