Espino Nieto & Asociados is described by one competitor as a "very strong firm" with robust corporate and financial capabilities. "I respect them a lot," says one attorney. The firm spent last year advising Sherwin Williams de Centroamerica in a dumping matter filed by Glidden, a competing paint company, in Panama.
"When you say Espino, the guy that comes to mind is Rafael," says one competitor about Rafael Alberto Mendoza Calderón, who others called "very sharp" and "very diligent". Rafael, along with Pedro Alejandro Mendoza, advised Kimberly Clark and Jumex in a commercial dispute between the Dominican Republic and El Salvador regarding the DR-CAFTA.
