Glatzová & Co is considered to have a solid banking and finance practice, and department head Dana Schweigelová has a good reputation in the market. The firm advised Citibank Europe on restructuring of the security on a €1.1 billion facility. The deal, closed on April 30 2009, involved the spinning-off and mergers of certain assets from the borrowers group.
The firm is one of the few that worked on the project finance side, advising Raiffeisenbank on the first tranche of the financing of a solar cell power plant. The tranche closed in April 2009 and was worth Kc63 million (€2.5 million).
Glatzová & Co kept busy with regulation work, advising Komercní banka on the pay services directive and Travelex Group about restructuring under regulatory changes. The firm also advised Volksbank on the outsourcing of their legal department.

Glatzová & Co was involved in the first competitive public offer in the Czech Republic's history – representing the multinational pharmaceutical company Sanofi-aventis's successful bid for Zentiva, in a transaction totalling almost Kc33 billion (€1.3 billion). The offer was launched in July 2008 and was accepted in February 2009.
Jirí Sixta, another respected partner, led a team that worked on the acquisition of Noviko, a distributor of veterinary products, pharmaceuticals and medical supplies. The buyer was Henry Schein, a large company that operates in a similar market, and the deal was completed in December 2008.
On the sale side, the firm represented Walter Aircraft Engines in its acquisition by GE Aviation in July 2008. The same month saw the firm also complete a deal representing the buyer, Wood & Company, in its acquisition of Top Wood Windows.

Commentators expect Glatzová & Co to take advantage of its connections with both borrowers and lenders from the banking sector to take a lead in this practice area. Name partner Vladimíra Glatzová "is well known" says one partner, and Dana Schweiglová is experienced too, while partner Martin Dancisin heads the department.
Dancisin is representing Volksbank Czech Republic in the reorganisation of Papírny Vltavsky mlyn. The bank is the only secured lender in the case, the first reorganisation approved under the new insolvency law. The firm is also representing Mondi Stetí, a creditor, in bankruptcy proceedings against Olsanské papírny.
Dancisin, along with partner Jirí Sixta, advised Wagon Automotive Czech on the restructuring of the company's debt as a result of the foreign mother company entering insolvency.
