Established in 1994, Divjak Topic & Bahtijarevic has built itself a solid reputation in the Croatian market. Reports are that the firm is "building" its market share and that it is one of the body of firms that has been described as "emerging" as significant players despite being in the market since the mid-nineties. "I look at Divjak and they have lots of deals," says one partner.
Involved in the firm's major deals, Damir Topic has been particularly active. The firm advised 12 international banks in the largest syndicated loan deal in Croatia in 2010 for €161 million. The loan was given to Raiffeisen Bank in Croatia. The firm subsequently advised Raiffeisen Bank International in lending €39 million to INA (the biggest company in Croatia).
DTB also advised Globe Trade Centre (a leading Central European real estate developer) on a €44 million loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and advised Raiffeisen Landes Bank in lending €30 million for a shopping centre development. The latter deal was for the development of one of the biggest shopping centres in the south of Croatia.
