Nassar Abogados prides itself on specialising in transactions that involve multiple Central American countries. Over the past year, the firm directed negotiations between Laureate International Universities, its client, and the Costa Rican government, for the implementation of trademark and commercial name changes, which were brought about after a merger between the country's two largest universities. Through its negotiations, Nassar was successful in obtaining a license that had never before been granted in the country.
Last year the firm also advised an international real estate developer on a $70 million commercial development project in the country. The strategy included negotiations with landowners, purchasing arrangements and regulatory requirements.
