Last year the team was involved in acting for BNDES on the $42 million financing for the funding of a bus rapid transit system in Johannesburg.
The team also assisted in the drafting of an investment agrrement to develop a steel manufacturing plant in the state of Ceará.
Restructuring was also on the agenda for the firm who assisted oil company Petrobras on the unwinding of the company's Barracuda and Caratinga project finance agreements.

By far the largest deal the team worked on last year saw the firm advised CPFL Comercialização Brasil as it acquired the quotas of Jantus a major wind farm operator. Another electricity related deal saw Claudia Prado act for Emerson Electric on the sale of its LANDesk business in Brazil to Thomas Bravo.
Another substantial deal saw the team act for ENI as it sold its stake in Gas Brasiliano Distribuidora to Petrobras Gás for $250 million. Gas Brasiliano is responsible for the distribution of natural gas in the northwest region of Brazil.

In a $785 million deal which closed in January 2010, the firm advised CPFL Comercialização Brasil in its 100% acquisition of the quotas of Jantus, which owns wind farms across Brazil through SIIF Énergies do Brasil and SIIF Desenvolvimento de Projetos de Energia Eólica.
The firm also represented HSBC Brasil in a $42 million financing granted by state development bank BNDES to fund a bus transit project in Johannesburg, South Africa, for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The complex transaction closed in January 2011 and was the first financing granted by BNDES to a South African entity for more than a decade.
