Areas of practice and firm profile:

Clarke Gittens Farmer ('CGF') was formed on April 15, 2002 when Clarke & Co. which was founded in 1976, combined its practice with that of David Gittens and Stephen Farmer, formerly Partners in the firm Evelyn, Gittens & Farmer, founded in 1986. CGF is one of the principal law firms in Barbados with 29 lawyers. The other jurisdictions in which some of the firm's lawyers are qualified to practice include Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, St. Lucia, Grenada and St. Vincent and the Grenadines. CGF is a full service commercial law firm, providing legal services in civil practice for both domestic and international corporate and private clients.
CGF has developed a reputation for high quality work in corporate, commercial and business law areas and now represents all of the commercial banks and finance companies in Barbados. Corporate and commercial services include advising international and local clients in connection with banking and finance, securities law and insolvency issues, corporate mergers, acquisitions, take-overs, public utilities law, and construction law and practice. The firm represents clients in commercial litigation in all areas of its practice.
CGF advises domestic and international clients on the purchase and sale of residential and commercial property in Barbados, and also acts for residential and commercial real estate developers.
CGF provides services to clients in the international financial services sector, often in connection with the establishment of corporate structures to facilitate structured financing and contractual arrangements or corporate reorganisations, using international business companies, international societies with restricted liability and exempt and qualifying insurance companies.
The firm also has a significant trade mark and patent registration practice.
CGF is the Barbados member of Lex Mundi, the world's leading association of independent law firms.
