Alternatives to traditional corporate financing in Cambodia will soon be available with the highly anticipated launch of the securities exchange, purported to open later this year. Despite some (not entirely unexpected) delays, the launch is now imminent and to date, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Cambodia (SECC), as the securities regulator, has licensed and accredited all relevant securities related operators and parties, including the securities market, the securities depository, clearance and settlement facility operators, underwriters, dealers, brokers, investment advisers, securities representatives, investment advisory representatives, specialised securities accounting firms, cash settlement agents, securities registrars, securities transfer agents and paying agents.
