Overview:

• Autostrada A4 Venice Trieste motorway expansion.
• The European Investment Bank (EIB) and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP) have provided €600 million in financing in order to enlarge the A4 motorway between Venice and Trieste.
• The expansion consists of the construction of a third lane over a 95km stretch of the A4.
• The €300 million financing provided by the EIB was guaranteed by the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI).
• The project is part of the EU's Corridor V transport plan, linking Italy to the Balkan states.
• Autovie Venete is the borrower and concessionaire.
