Overview:

  • UK-based publishing company Informa has acquired American Penton Information Services in a £1.18 billion deal.
  • Penton was sold by private equity firms MidOcean Partners and Wasserstein & Co.
  • Roughly £ 1.1 billion of the price tag was paid in cash, and another £76 million in Informa equity.  
  • The deal is expected to close Q4, 2016.
