BLP hires London finance partner from Dechert

03 Feb 2012

Berwin Leighton Paisner has enhanced its City finance practice with the hire of a partner from Dechert.

Steve Clark is set to join the firm's London office in the real estate practice group. He held a counsel position at Dechert and has previous experience at Addleshaw Goddard, Ashurst and Clifford Chance.

BLP head of finance and banking and capital markets Matthew Kellett said: “Our real estate finance practice has been extremely busy over the last year and there was a need to bring someone else into the group to meet the growing demand.

“We have been looking at the business and assessing its needs for around 18 months now, and we’re coming to the end of a reshaping period that should place us in a strong position for the future. However, we definitely wouldn’t rule out further hires in the short to medium term.”

The move comes shortly after the high profile move of structured finance and securitisation specialist Prashanth Satyadeva (January 2012) from Clifford Chance.
