Orrick swoops for City corporate partner

02 Feb 2012

Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has hired Mayer Brown's former co-head of capital markets in London.

Stephanie Bates focuses on equity capital markets and M&A work in the financial institutions sector. She has advised the likes of M&G, Bank of New York Mellon and JPMorgan Asset Management.

The news follows the hire of Anthony Riley (November 2011), a corporate partner from Norton Rose and the additions of regulatory partners Sam Miller and Tony Katz (September 2011).

Anne O’Neill, head of Orrick’s London office said: "London’s legal market is undoubtedly one of the most competitive in the world.

"We couldn’t be happier to welcome Stephanie, who has a proven track record of handling notable and complex corporate transactions for leading financial institutions and public companies, to our London office. Stephanie’s practice strengths will balance well with those of our recent London transactional and litigation additions and our new acquisition finance team in New York."
