Alex Baykitch, a dispute resolution and litigation lawyer, will join Mallesons Stephen Jaques in the second quarter this year.
He has extensive experience in conducting cross-border litigation and has particular knowledge in construction, engineering and infrastructure projects, onshore and offshore, mining and resources disputes and advising on investment treaty arbitrations. He primarily represents design sponsors in the energy and telecoms industry.
Baykitch launched Holman Fenwick Willans Sydney office in 2009, when he moved from Blake Dawson citing potential conflicts as the reason for the move.
Mallesons has recently been making headlines due to its proposed tie-up with Chinese firm King & Wood. The union will be the first of its kind between an Australian and a Chinese firm and the first time a Chinese firm has entered into any form of international merger.
